They’re finally here: the new SolydXK ISO’s!

The new SolydXK ISO’s include the latest updates from June’s Update Pack.

Some changes were made:

  • Thanks to some forum users these applications are now localized to Spanish, Catalán, German and Dutch:
    • Device Driver Manager (DDM)
    • Debian Plymouth Manager
    • LightDM Manager
    • Software Manager
    • Welcome Screen

If you want to help translating, you can start with this simple tutorial:

  • Steam Installer was removed, and Steam installed. Thus leaving out a step to install Steam before you can start playing.

  • Blueman was removed from SolydX. It showed in the system stray even when you don’t have Bluetooth running. So, if you want to use Bluetooth on SolydX, you can simply install Blueman with the Software Manager, or run this command in the terminal:
    sudo apt-get install blueman

  • Java was upgraded to the latest version.

  • The .NET implementation for Linux, Mono, was removed from SolydK. Very few people use it, and it’s automatically installed if a package you need relies on it.

You can dowload the ISO’s here:
We’ll make the mirrors available as soon as they are synchronized.

  1. I need to type ‘sudo apt-get install blueman’. How do I type without my bluetooth keyboard? Is there an onscreen keyboard?

  2. I’m sorry, but on SolydX there is no virtual keyboard. SolydK has one, but that doesn’t help you, I’m afraid.

  3. Congratulations on the release of SolydXK 201306! I just installed SolydK and it’s running beautifully.

  4. Thanks for KDE Debian Testing based distro. Nice Ubuntu font as default .

  5. For having steam installed by default I want to hug you and never stop. I’m downloading now with full hope it works in x64?

  6. Congratulations! By the way, it’s “catalan” in english or “català” in catalan, not “catalán”… -_-‘

  7. man love the distro but i can’t figure out the partion [edit] part why didn’t they just use the simple installer so the noobs like me can enjoy the distro too
